Mari Ward studied Studio Art and Psychology at The University of Maine in Orono. She is known for her prolific painting ability that takes on a non-traditional route leaning towards INDEPENDENCE and INVENTIVENESS. Mari explores community, inequality, social and economic justice, and family, among other themes in her painting. Her work both represents and impacts her local community. She has recently returned to school to study Sociocultural Anthropology. In her spare time, she works as a Picture framing apprentice on the peninsula of Blue Hill, Maine. She resides in the village of West Tremont, Maine with her daughter and husband.
